Ronley Floyd Bynoe, a Guyanese-born individual, has been extradited to the United States to face multiple fraud-related charges, as confirmed by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

According to a statement from the DPP’s Chambers, Bynoe was extradited on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. He had been held at the Georgetown Camp Street Prison while awaiting the extradition process. On Tuesday night, around 9:00 PM, he was removed from the prison and escorted under security to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), where he was handed over to two U.S. Marshals.
He boarded an American Airlines flight bound for the United States at approximately 1:30 AM.
Bynoe is wanted in the U.S. for several serious charges, including misuse of a Social Security number, aggravated identity theft, and bank fraud. A criminal indictment against him was filed in September 2023 in the District Court of the Northern District of Ohio, where he is expected to face a grand jury trial.
Authorities indicated that an arrest warrant had been issued in the U.S. but could not be executed initially because Bynoe had fled the country. Subsequent investigations revealed that he had returned to Guyana.
In November 2025, the U.S. government made a formal request for Bynoe’s extradition through the Guyana Ministry of Home Affairs, which sought legal advice from the DPP’s Office. On February 16, 2026, Home Affairs Minister Oneidge Walrond issued an Authority to Proceed, allowing the extradition under the Fugitive Offenders Act.
Bynoe was arrested by local police on February 18, 2026, and appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court the following day. During this hearing, he was informed of the extradition request from U.S. authorities and consented to be extradited without the need for further court proceedings.
