Friendship, East Bank Demerara – Kevin Arjoon, a 30-year-old Guyanese male of East Indian descent, residing at Lot 610 Brotherson Street, Republic Park, appeared before Her Worship Ms. Tamica Clarke at the Friendship Magistrate’s Court.

The charge was laid by Woman Corporal 22766 Edwards of the Madewini Police Outpost. Arjoon faced the offense of Driving a Motor Vehicle While Breath Alcohol Level Exceeded the Prescribed Limit.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $150,000, with a default penalty of twelve (12) months imprisonment if the fine is not paid. This ruling highlights the strict enforcement of laws concerning driving under the influence in Guyana.
