Big Smith News Watch Reports : Two individuals were reported to have collapsed and died at separate restaurant locations in Georgetown on Friday morning, prompting emergency responses in two areas of the city.
In the first incident, a man identified as Matthew Gordon Meany, a U.S. national, reportedly suffered a seizure and collapsed inside the Starbucks at MovieTowne at about 11:00 hrs. Emergency responders attended the scene and Meany was later pronounced dead.
In a separate occurrence, emergency medical technicians responding to a call at the Hibiscus Restaurant on Middle Street discovered a motionless person. The EMTs confirmed the individual showed no signs of life. That person’s identity has not yet been released.
Authorities have not issued official statements about either incident and the circumstances surrounding both deaths remain unclear. Investigations are ongoing and further information is expected as inquiries continue.
