A search is ongoing for Aladdin Dookie, 28, a fisherman residing at Number 77 Housing Scheme, Corriverton, Berbice.

Reports say that on March 21, at about 17:59 hours, Dookie who was the captain of the boat was fishing with three other men near Orealla Village on the Corentyne River.
Investigators stated that while trying to start the engine by pulling the choke, Dookie accidentally fell overboard after leaning too far over the side of the boat. He was seen going underwater and has not returned to the surface since.
A search party was subsequently organized to comb the area, but Dookie remains missing.
Speaking to reporters, Dookie’s wife, Amrita Singh, said she spoke with her husband around lunchtime and that he promised to call back. She described the moment her mother informed her of the tragedy on Saturday, saying since then, attempts to find him have continued.
Singh said her husband was not a swimmer and that he had been away for about five days on the fishing trip.
With tears in her eyes, she appealed for his safe return, saying: “me want me husband come home; he get four children and I hope he return home safe.”
