The deceased has been identified as Raymond Hack, commonly known as “Kiki,” of Lot 2 Koker Dam, Fyrish, Corentyne, Berbice.

His brother, Hardat Lall, 68, also of Fyrish Village, told reporters that he last saw Raymond on April 6, 2026. After visiting his brother’s residence on multiple occasions, checking the hospital, and searching the neighbourhood without success, the family filed a missing person’s report at the Albion Police Station.

The discovery was made on Saturday afternoon when a young man herding cattle spotted what appeared to be a person in the savannah and raised an alarm. Authorities were notified and responded to the scene. An examination of the body revealed no visible signs of violence.

Lall, who described his brother as an alcoholic who had also been suffering from dementia for some time, said he does not believe foul play was involved, suggesting Raymond likely became disoriented after drinking.

“I believe he was intoxicated and got lost from his usual route home. He had stopped working and was only consuming alcohol,” the grieving brother said.

Raymond’s body was retrieved from the savannah and taken to Ramoo Funeral Home, where it has been placed in cold storage pending a post-mortem examination.
