A 36-year-old labourer, Junior Callender of Hogg Street, Albouystown, appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, June 18, 2026, to face a charge of Attempting to Obstruct the Course of Justice.

The legal action against Callender, laid under Section 330 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, follows investigations into the murder of Daintier Vegas Infante, which took place on May 10, 2026, at Forshaw Street, Alberttown.
It is alleged that Callender sought to obstruct the police investigation by falsely implicating himself in the murder. According to reports, he attempted to take responsibility for the crime in an effort to shield a wanted individual who is currently a person of interest in the ongoing murder probe.
Callender was arrested on Wednesday, June 17, and formally charged on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Appearing before Her Worship Magistrate Orintha Schmidt, he was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
The court granted Callender bail in the sum of G$175,000 and imposed the following conditions:
Mandatory Reporting: He must report to the police every Friday at 09:00 hours.
Court Schedule: The matter has been adjourned until July 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
