Authorities have launched an investigation into a brazen double murder that occurred late Wednesday evening, claiming the lives of two men.

The victims, identified as 22-year-old Cordel August and 35-year-old Keon Headley, were fatally shot shortly after 10:00 p.m. while at a shop in Vigilance South.
According to preliminary police reports, a group of individuals had gathered at the location when two suspects, dressed in black and traveling on a motorcycle, approached the crowd. The assailants opened fire, discharging multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. Both August and Headley sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the attack.
Public-spirited citizens rushed the wounded men to the Enmore Regional Hospital, where they were unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival by medical personnel.
Police investigators have processed the crime scene and confirmed that the victims suffered from multiple gunshot injuries. Post-mortem examinations are scheduled to be conducted to further assist in the investigation.
At this time, no motive for the execution-style attack has been established, and no arrests have been made. The Guyana Police Force is urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward as they continue their inquiries.
