Mandall Remains on Administrative Leave – GPF

News Room Guyana Reports. Assistant Commissioner of Police Khalid Mandall, the Commander of Regional Division number 3, continues to be on administrative leave more than a month after being reassigned. This leave was implemented as investigations proceed into the death of 11-year-old Adriana Younge.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) confirmed on Thursday that ACP Mandall remains off duty. Mark Ramotar, head of the Force’s Corporate Communications Unit, stated, “Yes…he is still on Administrative Leave,” in response to media inquiries.

Mandall was placed on leave on April 26, following the Force’s Standard Operating Procedures. He was also relieved of his post and replaced by Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahendra Siwnarine as part of the internal investigation into Younge’s death.

The update from the GPF came shortly after retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigator Leonard McCoshen praised the Force for its “exceptional” and “exemplary” investigative work regarding the case.

With autopsy results now available, police have indicated that the investigation remains active as efforts continue to resolve the matter.
