Driver Charged with Two Counts of ‘Facilitating a Terrorist Act’
Jason Jacobis, a 28-year-old driver from Lot 131 Prashad Street, Annandale, East Coast Demerara, was arrested by a Detective Corporal from the Ruimveldt Police Station and charged yesterday with two counts of ‘Facilitating a Terrorist Act’, contrary to Section 309 A(2) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

Jacobis is accused of committing the offenses on May 17, 2025, at the East Ruimveldt Police Station Outpost and the GPL sub-station on Aubrey Barker Road. He appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty.
The prosecutor objected to bail; however, the accused was granted bail in the sum of $500,000 for each offense. Additionally, he was ordered to lodge his passport and report to the Ruimveldt Police Station every Friday morning at 9:00 AM. The case has been postponed to July 2, 2025.
