29-Year-Old Pleads Guilty to Break and Enter, Larceny Charge

Sentenced to Four Years Imprisonment

Ralph Pollard, known as “Monkeyman,” a 29-year-old resident of Lot 29 Diamond New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, and also of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on May 30, 2025, and charged with Break and Enter and Larceny.

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Pollard appeared virtually from Lusignan Prison at Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #2 before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment.

Pollard is accused of committing the offense at the home of Andre Perreira in New Granville Park, Beterverwagting, where he stole a .32 pistol along with 12 matching rounds of ammunition, as well as gold and diamond jewelry and cash totaling G$10,487,000.
