The local cricket fraternity is in mourning following the tragic passing of Stephon Sankar, an 18-year-old cricketer and aspiring umpire. His sudden death this week has sent shockwaves through the sporting community.

Sankar, a promising all-rounder, began his cricket journey at the Under-13 level with the Malteenoes Sports Club and later represented the Transport Sports Club. In addition to his playing career, he was gaining recognition as a young umpire, admired for his dedication and respect for the game.
