A robbery at Vickash Enterprise, an agro-chemical business located at Number 64 Village, resulted in the loss of millions of dollars in cash and valuable items on Sunday, June 15, 2023.

The incident was reported to the owner, Bharrat Sukhu, by a staff member who arrived for duty that morning. Upon receiving the alarming news, Sukhu immediately contacted the police and rushed to the business premises.
Upon arrival, Sukhu conducted a thorough inspection and discovered significant damage. The robbers had broken into two doors: one on the side of the building, which served as the main entry point, and another leading to both the bond and the main store. According to Sukhu, the intruders used heavy machinery to cut through the padlocks securing the doors.
Sukhu reported a substantial loss, which included one outboard engine, 20 motor blowers, and a considerable sum of cash.
“Each motor blower costs $130,000, totaling $2.6 million for all 20. The outboard engine is valued at $500,000, and the cash loss is approximately $500,000 to $600,000,” he stated.
Sukhu noted that the robbers left behind evidence, including a cut fence belonging to a neighbor, which they used to escape via a back street. He discovered some boxes from the stolen motor blowers along the escape route, which he collected as evidence.
“This was not the work of just one person; to my knowledge, there were three to four individuals involved,” he asserted.
Sukhu revealed that his business has been targeted multiple times in the past, and he mentioned that one of the alleged perpetrators is well-known in the community.
“It’s not easy to run a business legally when people come to break into your place. I need someone to step in and look into this matter,” he emphasized.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and Sukhu is hopeful for a resolution to the ongoing issues affecting his business.
