The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has reiterated its position regarding Rickford Burke, maintaining that it possesses cogent, compelling, and irrefutable evidence of his involvement in extorting money from a local businessman.
This statement comes in light of the recent ruling by the Chief Justice on a legal challenge filed by Burke.
The Police are currently reviewing the matter and await further legal advice regarding the potential institution of new charges. As Burke remains outside the jurisdiction of Guyana, the GPF plans to pursue extradition proceedings under the Fugitive Offenders Act, in accordance with the Chief Justice’s ruling.
