Azruddin Mohamed Released Without Charges After Police Questioning

  • News

Azruddin Mohamed, the presidential candidate for the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party, was allowed to leave the Ruimveldt Police Station without facing any charges following questioning about allegations of attempting to obstruct justice.

The police had received a report claiming that Mohamed offered a payment of $500,000 to a woman assaulted by one of his party’s activists in an effort to persuade her to drop the case. However, Mohamed denied making any such offer, stating that his only interaction with the woman was to extend an apology.

Authorities were compelled to release him as they were unable to make contact with the woman involved in the allegations. This incident adds another layer of controversy to Mohamed’s candidacy and highlights ongoing tensions surrounding his party amidst allegations against its members.
