News Room Guyana Reports : During a PPP/C rally in Bartica on Saturday, General Secretary of the PPP/C and Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo cautioned voters, particularly in Amerindian communities, against being misled by Azruddin Mohamed and his promises. He warned that if Mohamed loses the elections, he will vanish, leaving voters without the benefits he promised.

Jagdeo urged citizens not to accept money for their votes, emphasizing that residents of Region Seven should be wary of “empty promises.” He stated:
“They will come to Bartica and to communities across the region… they will promise money if you support them. But after September 2nd, Azruddin Mohamed will disappear. Who will be there to pay the money? You’re not going to get your money.”
He referenced an incident in Georgetown where a woman was allegedly assaulted while trying to collect $50,000 promised by Mohamed’s operatives. Jagdeo also raised concerns about the investigation into the Mohameds by the United States government, highlighting sanctions and financial issues faced by them.
“Don’t let your village on September 2nd be considered a pariah village,” he advised the Amerindian communities, encouraging them to trust the PPP/C’s proven track record.
Jagdeo asserted:
“We are the only party that did what we said… we reject those who divide our people… we’re the only national party in this country, a party that brings together people of every race.”
