Training Opportunities:

United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut:
Candidates will be part of the GDF Standard Officer Course until selected for training in the United States.
Training at the United States Coast Guard Academy.Britannia Royal Naval College, United Kingdom:
Candidates will be part of the GDF Standard Officer Course until selected for training in the United Kingdom.Training at the Britannia Royal Naval College.


Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged between 17 years 6 months and 22 years old.
  • Single and without dependents.
  • Possess a SAT score of 600 or above, or an ACT score of 27 and above. Candidates awaiting SAT or ACT scores are also encouraged to apply.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects at one sitting, or six (06) subjects at two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics with Grades I or II. One subject with Grade III may be accepted if it is not Mathematics or English Language. A Technical Diploma or higher Certification from the University of Guyana will also be accepted.
  • Be in good health.
  • No visible tattoos.

  • 4 Copies of NIS Card
  • 4 Copies of ID Card
  • 4 Copies of Birth Certificate
  • 4 Copies of TIN Certificate
  • 4 Passport Size Photos
  • 2 Recommendations (must have stamp/letterhead and be no more than six (6) months old)
  • 2 Copies Police Clearance (no more than three months old)
  • Bank Account Number (Allotment forms if Necessary)
