Authorities in Regional Division #3 are probing an alleged assault that occurred on Sunday evening around 20:00 hours at Fisher Dam Access Road.

According to initial reports, the incident began when a 25-year-old male construction worker from Zeelugt North was traveling on an electric motorcycle. At the same time, a 32-year-old male pandit from the Zeelugt Housing Scheme was participating in a gathering on the roadway. A collision ensued between the motorcycle and the pandit, leading to a confrontation.
Eyewitnesses state that following the collision, the rider was allegedly assaulted by the pandit, resulting in injuries to his face and body. The injured construction worker received medical treatment at De Kinderen Regional Hospital and has since been released.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested and is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
Police officials are urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward, as they work to gather further details surrounding this case. Investigations are ongoing.
