Presidential candidate A. Mohamed has hailed his recent two-day visit to Region Nine as a significant success. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his mobilizing team, the local residents for their overwhelming support and hospitality, and those who opened their homes to facilitate meetings with the community.

During his visit, Mr. Mohamed and his team toured eight Amerindian villages in the North Rupununi area, engaging with thousands of residents who openly shared their daily struggles. For many, this marked the first time a presidential candidate had come to listen to their concerns and witness firsthand their living conditions.
Mr. Mohamed emphasized the importance of these visits, stating that they allow him to assess not only the residents’ living situations but also to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face. He believes that fostering a connection with the residents is crucial, ensuring they feel recognized and valued as important citizens of the nation.
As a trailblazer and pace-setter, Mr. Mohamed’s actions have inspired others in the political landscape. He noted that several government officials are expected to visit the same villages he recently toured. However, he made it clear that he would not resort to coercing Community Service Officers (CSOs) and temporary workers to attend his meetings, unlike the current administration.
Acknowledging the struggles and victimization faced by the residents, Mr. Mohamed vowed that these issues would become a thing of the past under his leadership.
In conclusion, he expressed his sincere thanks to all who have supported his campaign for public office in North Rupununi, reinforcing his commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people he serves.
