Two Brazilian nationals have been fined and ordered deported after pleading guilty to illegally entering Guyana through a land frontier.

Franscio Lopes, 47, and Junior Condrad, 32, both of Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil, appeared before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the charge was read to them.
The pair were charged with entering Guyana by crossing a land frontier without presenting themselves to the nearest Immigration Officer, contrary to Section 34(1)(b) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 14:02. Both entered guilty pleas.
Magistrate Chandan fined each man $30,000 GYD and ordered their immediate deportation.
