Duo Charged with Possession of Firearm and Ammunition

A 33-year-old businessman, Ron Williams of Lot 171 Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, and Jhoanlis Aurora Perez Palma have been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license. They were arrested on November 9, 2025.

The duo appeared at the Bartica Magistrates Court before His Worship Mr. T. Mohamed, where the charges were read. Both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail set at $80,000 for each charge, totaling $160,000 each.

In addition, they were instructed to report to the Itaballi Police checkpoint on the first Friday of every month. The case has been adjourned until December 12, 2025.
