A tragic accident in Stanleytown on Thursday afternoon has claimed the life of 22-year-old Daniel North, a resident of 8th Street Village, East Bank Berbice.
According to Police Headquarters, the incident occurred around 4:30 PM while Daniel was riding motorcycle CP 1385 in the western drive lane at a normal speed. It is alleged that while moving along an access road on the western side, Daniel’s motorcycle struck the left front side of motorcar PLL 6600, which was being driven by a 56-year-old man.
The collision resulted in Daniel being thrown from his motorcycle, sustaining severe injuries. He was quickly transported to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital; however, he tragically succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
The driver of the motorcar is also receiving medical attention at the same hospital. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
