Regional Democratic Council Region No.6 Reports | The remote community of Baracara has welcomed its first Medex in nearly a decade, marking a significant enhancement to healthcare delivery in the region. Kerron Caesar, a proud son of the village, has returned home after completing his medical training to serve his community.

Caesar’s educational journey began at Baracara Primary School and continued at the Berbice Educational Institute in New Amsterdam. While he initially aspired to be a forestry officer, he was inspired by family guidance and his desire to serve, leading him to pursue a four-year Medex training program—a field he has come to passionately embrace.
Recently, Caesar hosted a medical outreach event where he conducted patient consultations, performed ultrasounds, and actively engaged with residents to ensure they received essential healthcare services. His involvement has already begun to make a meaningful impact in this riverine community.
Looking ahead, Caesar has expressed a long-term goal of furthering his studies, with hopes of eventually becoming a medical doctor.
Located approximately 75 miles from New Amsterdam, Baracara is one of Region Six’s most isolated communities. Caesar’s return signifies a renewed chapter for local healthcare, providing residents improved access to medical services after years without a resident Medex.
