A 27-year-old man, wanted for the murder of young miner Samuel Marciano, was apprehended on Friday night as part of an intelligence-led police operation.
According to a police release, the suspect was arrested in New Amsterdam. Following his capture, authorities conducted a search of the vehicle he was using. During this search, officers uncovered a 9MM Taurus pistol along with 11 live 9MM rounds, both hidden in the driver’s side door.
The firearm and ammunition were processed and secured for evidence. The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations into the murder continue.
Samuel Marciano was tragically shot multiple times during a social gathering at 14 Miles, Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni. Police reports indicate that Marciano was targeted by two known individuals at the event.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder, seeking further information and potential leads.
