Two young men, Terron Wintz, 19, of Glasgow Housing Scheme, and Keson Kesney, 20, faced serious allegations in Albion Magistrates’ Court on Friday regarding the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

Both defendants appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Michelle Mathias, with Kesney attending via Zoom while being on remand for an unrelated case.
The court heard that the alleged incident took place a few weeks ago at a residence along the East Bank Berbice. Reports indicate that the victim was lured to the home by a 16-year-old female friend, who claimed they were visiting an aunt. Once inside, the victim encountered eight males consuming alcohol.
It is alleged that Wintz and Kesney forced the girl into a room after her friend left. The prosecution claims that the victim was handcuffed at the ankles and had her hands tied behind her back before the assault occurred.
The case came to public attention when a video of the incident was shared on social media. The victim’s mother, upon seeing the footage, confronted her daughter, who initially stated she did not know the males present. Eventually, the teenager disclosed the details of the assault.
Following this revelation, a formal police report was filed, and the victim underwent a medical examination. According to her mother, the 14-year-old remains profoundly traumatized by the experience.
After reviewing the evidence, Magistrate Mathias denied bail for both defendants, remanding them to prison. The case has been transferred to the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court, where Wintz and Kesney are scheduled to reappear on January 5, 2026.
