Policewoman Injured in Collision with Motorcyclist in Diamond

A policewoman was injured on Thursday morning after being struck by a motorcyclist while crossing a roadway in Diamond. The incident occurred around 8:10 AM and involved a 29-year-old motorcyclist riding motorcycle CR 7062.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcyclist was traveling south along the eastern carriageway when he noticed police traffic ranks on duty. In an attempt to evade them, he turned his motorcycle around and proceeded at a high speed in the wrong direction along a one-way lane.

During this maneuver, he collided with the police Inspector, who was in the process of crossing the roadway. The impact resulted in both the motorcyclist and the policewoman falling onto the road.

The policewoman suffered injuries to her head and was transported to the New Diamond Regional Hospital, where she is currently admitted. Her condition is reported as stable but serious.

The motorcyclist has since been arrested and is in police custody along with his motorcycle, which has been secured as evidence. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident.
