A 41-year-old handyman, Kent Williams, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to the charges of Break and Enter and Larceny.

Williams, who has no fixed address, was charged in connection with a burglary at the property of a businessman from Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara. The offense occurred between January 21 and February 6, 2026, during which Williams unlawfully entered the businessman’s premises and committed larceny.
He was arrested on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, and officially charged the following day. Williams appeared before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at approximately 10:30 AM, where the charges were read to him.
Upon pleading guilty, Williams was sentenced to one year in prison.
