Nadira Persaud, also known as “Nanda,” a 52-year-old businesswoman from Helena #1 Mahaica Village, has been arrested and charged for setting an unmuzzled ferocious dog to be at large. This charge falls under Section 153(xxxii) of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 08:02.
Persaud was apprehended on September 29, 2025, in connection with the incident involving Melissa Ann Bynoe at her residence in Helena #1 Mahaica Village, which occurred on September 13, 2025.
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Persaud appeared at the Mahaicony Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate A. Wilson, where the charge was read to her. She pleaded guilty and was fined G$10,000.
