The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m., took place at the home of a 64-year-old farmer. According to reports from Police Headquarters, the victim was sitting under a shed on the lower flat of his residence with relatives when the two men—both armed with what appeared to be handguns—invaded the property.

Upon entering the yard, the suspects confronted the group and forced the occupants into the kitchen area, where they were ordered to lie on the floor at gunpoint.

The ordeal escalated when the bandits allegedly assaulted the farmer, demanding to know the location of his cash. Under duress, the farmer led the gunmen to a white bucket inside the house where a significant sum of money was being kept. The suspects seized $12 million in cash from the bucket, along with four cellular phones valued at approximately $400,000.

After securing the loot, the suspects fled the scene in a silver-tinted Toyota Axio. Witnesses reported that the vehicle, which bore an unknown registration number, headed in a westerly direction.

Police have since launched an intensive investigation into the home invasion. Detectives have been canvassing the area and questioning several individuals as they work to identify the perpetrators. Investigators have also located CCTV footage from the vicinity, which is currently being reviewed for potential leads on the suspects’ identities and the vehicle’s license plate.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday evening.
