Paper committal proceedings regarding the deadly October 2025 bombing of the Regent Street Mobil Gas Station continued on Monday before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The court session saw the submission of additional video exhibits into the record. These include CCTV footage captured at the scene of the attack and video-recorded interviews conducted by investigators. Notably, brief portions of interviews featuring the prime suspect, Daniel Alexander Ramirez Peodemo, and the second accused, Alexander Bettencourt, were presented to the court.
The four individuals currently facing terrorism charges in this matter are:
Daniel Alexander Ramirez Peodemo
Alexander Bettencourt
Jhonny Boodram
Kystal LaCruz
The charges stem from the October 2025 explosion that tragically resulted in the death of six-year-old Soraya Bourne.
These latest additions follow a significant influx of evidence admitted earlier this month, totaling over 225 statements. The comprehensive file includes:
Reports from medical and forensic experts at the National Forensic Science University in India.
DNA analysis from the Center of Excellence in DNA Forensic, India.
The post-mortem report for the young victim and medical certificates for surviving victims.
Immigration records for the accused parties, including Jennifer Rodriguez.
Magistrate McGusty is currently tasked with reviewing all documentation and testimony to determine if there is sufficient evidence to move the case forward to trial.
While the Georgetown matter continues, related legal actions have concluded elsewhere. In the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, two Guyanese men—Ramesh Pramdeo and Wayne Corriea—were cleared of involvement. However, a third person charged alongside them, Venezuelan national Jennifer Rodriguez, was committed to stand trial in the High Court based on the evidence presented in that jurisdiction.
The Georgetown proceedings are scheduled to resume on July 2, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
