ABC News Reports : Rapper Sean Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Paul Anderson, has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for a $1 million fraud scheme in South Florida. The sentencing took place on August 15, 2025, after Kingston and his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, were convicted in March of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud.

Turner was sentenced to five years in prison last month. During the sentencing hearing, Kingston apologized to the court, stating he had learned from his actions. His attorney requested that he be allowed to self-surrender due to health issues, but U.S. Judge David Leibowitz ordered him taken into custody immediately.
Kingston, 35, was arrested in May 2024 following a SWAT team raid on his rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale. He was performing at Fort Irwin, an Army base in California, at the time his arrest occurred.
Court records reveal that Kingston used social media from April 2023 to March 2024 to arrange purchases of luxury items, including a bulletproof Escalade and high-end watches. After negotiating deals, he would invite sellers to his Florida homes, promising to promote them on social media. However, when it came time to pay, he and his mother would send fake wire receipts, leading to numerous victims not receiving payment.
Kingston, who gained fame at 17 with the hit “Beautiful Girls,” has faced significant legal troubles since his rise to stardom.
