Trinidad and Tobago Newsday Reports | A 24-year-old newspaper delivery driver, Antonio Sylvester, succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident two weeks prior. Sylvester passed away on November 28 at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH).

The shooting occurred around 12:30 AM on November 14 while Sylvester was parked in his Toyota Aqua on Beaucarro Road, close to Malique’s Sports Bar. Reports indicate that a gunman, concealed in nearby bushes, ambushed Sylvester and fired multiple shots, striking him.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Sylvester drove a short distance before colliding with a tree. The assailant fled the scene in an unknown direction, prompting a call to the Central Division police.
Officers including PCs Sohan, Persad, and Cummings were among the first responders, swiftly transporting Sylvester to the Couva District Health Facility. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to SFGH, where he ultimately died.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, is actively conducting an investigation into the case.
The community mourns the loss of Sylvester, who was remembered as a hardworking young man. As police continue their inquiry, residents are urged to come forward with any information that could assist in apprehending the shooter.
