Man Charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm Following Alleged Discharge at Event

Kevin Adams, a 28-year-old unemployed resident of Bee Hive, East Coast Demerara, has been charged in connection with the alleged discharge of a loaded firearm during an event at Retrieve Hard Court, Mackenzie, on Saturday, December 28, 2025.

Police officers on duty at the venue reported intercepting Adams after observing him discharging a firearm. A subsequent search revealed a .32 Taurus pistol, complete with a magazine and ten live .32 rounds, in his possession. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

On Monday, December 29, Adams appeared before Her Worship, Magistrate Rushell Liverpool, at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via Zoom. Three charges were read to him:

Unlawful Possession of Firearm without Licence

Possession of Ammunition without a Licence

Discharging a Loaded Firearm within One Hundred Yards of a Public Way

Adams pleaded not guilty to all charges and was remanded to prison until January 13, 2026, as the investigation into the incident continues. Authorities remain vigilant in addressing firearm-related offenses to ensure public safety.
