A 25-year-old man is in police custody following an early morning pursuit and arrest on the East Bank Demerara public road on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Officers from the Farm/Herstelling Police Station were performing routine patrols along the Bagotstown/Eccles Public Road at approximately 4:20 a.m. when they spotted a man riding a motorcycle equipped with trade plates.
When signaled to stop, the motorcyclist attempted to evade the police. He was subsequently apprehended after losing control and falling from the bike at Flour Mill Road.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the Farm/Herstelling Police Station along with a haversack he was carrying. Initial investigations yielded the following results:
Stolen Property: The motorcycle is suspected to have been stolen and is currently linked to an active report filed in Regional Police Division #3.
Contraband Recovery: A search of the suspect’s residence resulted in the discovery of a gel gun.
The motorcycle, the haversack, its contents, and the gel gun have all been lodged with the police. The suspect remains in custody and is cooperating with investigators as the probe continues.
