Three Venezuelan nationals were handed fines on Monday after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an unauthorized entry onto the grounds of the Lethem Aerodrome.
The defendants—identified as 44-year-old Linsey Maria, 40-year-old Cruz Jose, and 39-year-old Xavier Alexander—were arrested on August 28, 2026.
They appeared before Magistrate Nikkisha Logan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on August 31, where they faced a joint charge of Trespassing on an Aerodrome, contrary to Section 83(1) of the Civil Aviation Act 2018.
All three defendants entered a guilty plea. Magistrate Logan ordered each of them to pay a fine of $100,000, with an alternative sentence of two months’ imprisonment should they fail to pay.
