The New York Police Department has arrested 75-year-old Rupchand Simboo, charging him with the murder of his wife, 34-year-old Salisha Ali, whose dismembered remains were discovered in separate locations in Queens.

Ali was last seen alive on July 13, 2025, the same day her husband filed a missing person’s report. In September 2025, sanitation workers found her torso in a section of Queens. Subsequently, her head was discovered last weekend in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, leading to a positive identification through unique tattoos on her body.
Police pursued a thorough investigation, raising questions about Simboo’s account of Ali’s disappearance. The case took a significant turn when a medical examiner determined that a sharp instrument was used in her murder.
Simboo and Ali met in Trinidad and Tobago in 2023, and Ali moved to New York in 2024 to be with him. The couple married later that same year and had been living in Queens since then.
As authorities continue their investigation, the details surrounding the murder remain unclear, raising concerns about the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
